“Il Carratore” country guest house is situated in Massa Carrara, in the northen part of Tuscany, in a unique Italian setting: it’s only a five minute drive either down the sandy beaches of Versilia, or up to the majestic Apuan Alps, world famous for their marble quarries and white marble used by Michelangelo for his masterpieces.
Furthermore, the farm is located along the Via Francigena, close to medieval villages, churches, castles, monasteries etc. of enormous artistic and religious interest.
The geographic position at the entrance of Tuscany, on the border with Liguria and Emilia Romagna, makes the country guest house an excellent base for visiting the renowned art cities of Firenze, Lucca, Pisa, as well as many picturesque villages by the sea such us 5 terre, Lerici and Portovenere.
The structure, a farmer’s house built at the end of the 19th century, has just been restored in authentic Tuscan country style, with exposed beams and bricks.
It consists of three double ensuite rooms which have direct access to the spacious organic garden.
The limited number of rooms guarantees a warm welcome, with outstanding service and excellent meals, true to local tradition.
